Ordination : Paul Chapman, the son of Craig and Mary Chapman, is a son of this congregation. He graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2006, and was called to be a pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Conover, NC, in February 2007. Pastor Paul Chapman was ordained on February 11, 2007, at Grace.

You Are the Light : "You Are the Light", an anthem composed by Philip Hayden, was commissioned by Grace to celebrate George Joyner's 36 years as our choir director. The church choir, joined by former choir members, was under the direction of Ann Hughes. Mary Schoneman, soloist, came from Illinois; Lorna Kinsman from NY. Janice Peery played the piano; Nick Johnson accompanied on the violin. Many former members returned for the December 14, 2008 celebration of George's music ministry at Grace.
