2007 Church Picnic : The annual church picnic for 2007 on September 9th was quite an extravaganza! The Long Range Planning Committee chose a 4 Keys theme for the displays. Children did activities related to each of the Keys - Caring Conversations, Devotions, Acts of Service, and Rituals and Traditions - while adults shared their ideas for the 2008 congregational goals related to each key. The reward for visiting each display? Trust us, it was worth it!

Prayer Shawl : Have you ever felt so happy that you needed to give Christ a hug? Have you ever been so sad that you needed Him to wrap His arms around you? Do you know someone who might be feeling that way now? If you resonate with any of these questions, perhaps you'd like to share the love of Christ and a prayer shawl with someone. Members of the Grace family knit the shawls, praying for the recipient as they knit. A few of the shawls are presented at church. Most are distributed privately, often anonymously. How incredible it is to receive a tangible symbol of Christ's love "out of the blue" when you most need to know that Christ cares and is with you! Shawls have been knit to comfort the sick, dying, and grieving. Others have been knit to accompany people through life transitions. Many have been knit to give to guests at Kairos Outside, a retreat ministry for women affected by the incarceration of a friend or family member. And one was knit for Pastor Michael on his birthday. Would you like to share the love of Christ with someone? Contact Jill Nobles if you'd like to knit a shawl or order one.

Shepherd's Bowl : The Seminarian Bowl began as a fundraiser for our Paul Chapman and Jim Chinery. It was such a fun event that after they completed seminary it continued. Now known as the Shepherd's Bowl, funds raised go to Habitat for Humanity or the school in Haiti.

Amazing Graces : The Amazing Graces and Handicrafters enjoy creative service projects and fellowship. The ladies meet every Tuesday, alternating activities. The Amazing Graces make between one and two hundred quilts a year for Lutheran World Relief. The Handicrafters' service projects include making such items as bonnets for premature babies and lap robes for nursing homes.
